Guys, we’ve been invited directly by Angie Moore and the UMW to take a greater role this year in their annual Garage Sale. Through the sale last year over $35,000 was raised and dispersed to over a dozen local missions. If you’ve seen it (and you can’t miss it), it’s huge. It’s a great idea and a great ministry, not only to those missions that receive funds but to the crowds who come and find pretty excellent goods at really, really fair prices. As Angie says, there are some tasks that, frankly, are perfect for us men, so consider this:
- On Sunday, August 9th, they need help unloading and setting up, along with anyone who has a trailer who can help make some trips to pickup goods from storage.
- On Monday or Tuesday, August 10th & 11th, they need assistance in pricing “manly” items (electronics, sports equipment, etc.).
- On Saturday, August 15th, they need help starting at 2:00pm to cleanup and tear down when things are done. It should only take an hour, maybe two, if we have enough hands.
Y’all, this is super easy and right up our alley, so we should literally be ashamed if we can’t get on it with even a fraction of the effort that the ladies put in. Many of you have helped in years past, and that is appreciated, so let’s just grow that participation.
If you can help with one of these three tasks, I want you to contact Angie Moore directly (email@example.com or 261-4464) with your name, cell #, email address, and when you can commit to help.
