Once again, the Shandon Men are selling pulled-pork at $20 per quart with proceeds to benefit the Scout Troops. Meat will be ready for pickup from the Shandon Methodist Kitchen on Sunday, May 13th between 10am and 12pm. This year, we can even receive orders online here: bit.ly/BBQ4theBoys.
The only limit to how much money we raise to support our Scouts is how much we sell. We’ve got the capacity to cook an almost unlimited amount of BBQ, so we just need you, our men, to step up to get the word out and sell some pork.
One big need is to man the sales tables at the church on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. Check below for an open shift and SIGN-UP HERE or at the bottom of the page. Then just show up for your shift and you’ll find instructions waiting at the table.
If you’d like to sell on your own, you can download a sales sheet here and take orders from family, friends, and co-workers. Be sure to collect money in advance and turn in everything to Rev. Josh by May 4.
Fellas, let’s have a big BBQ sale for the scouts this year. That means we need YOU to help man the pre-order tables at the church, or to take orders from your friends, neighbors, families, and co-workers. You can pickup a sales sheet from Rev. Josh’s office (in the hanger outside his door)Just remember to take payment at the time of the pre-order, then turn in your sheets and money to Rev. Josh no later than Friday, May 5.
Below you’ll see the openings on shifts at the Sales Table. To sign-up, use the form at the bottom of this page. Once you’re signed up, just report to the table in the Dunn-Smith courtyard at the proper time, follow the directions you’ll find there, and SELL THAT PORK! At the end of your shift, drop off your money and orders at Josh’s office, and you’re done. It’s incredibly easy, so let’s gooo:
Guys, it’s time to go to work for our Scouts again. One of our two annual fundraisers is upon us: the Christmas wreath sale. Once again, we’ll be selling three different styles of natural evergreen wreath from the Mickman company, for between $25-35 plus accessories. Our first job, with the help of the Scouts themselves, is to SELL. To do that, you have two options: 1) come by my office at the church to take a sales sheet and sell at work/home, or 2) take a shift at the sales table at the church. We’ll have one table this year, in the Dunn-Smith Courtyard outside the gym, and all you have to do is show up, read the directions on the packet, take orders/money, and turn it into my office when you’re done. There are only three shifts — on Sunday morning after Sunday school lets out at 10:45, and then another after worship lets out at Noon, and then one on Wednesday nights during Manna at 5:15pm. The sale must be wrapped up by October 30, so it’s just a few weeks to hit this hard.
As much as you’re able at all, let’s get on this. See below which church shifts are still open, and at the bottom of the post you can sign-up:

It’s that time again for our annual fundraiser to benefit the Scouts. The Sons of Thunder will be selling Christmas Wreaths from the Mickman Company, set for delivery in the first week of December. Our deadline for sales has been pushed back to November 15, so all of our orders and money should be turned in by that date.
To help at the sales tables at the church, we have two shifts on Sunday mornings, and two tables per shift. That means, at minimum, we need four (yes, just 4) men to commit to manning the tables on Sundays. Plus one person for Wednesday night Manna. The shifts are as follows:
Sunday Shift #1: 10:30am to 11:00am
Sunday Shift #2: 11:45am to 12:15pm
Wednesday Manna: 5:15pm to 6:00pm
To sign up for a shift, contact me at 803-984-9662 or email@example.com. Also, you may want to download the sales sheet and print one for yourself to sell to family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Click here for that full-color PDF.
Thanks, guys, and let’s help fund our Scouts together!
